Can anyone tell me what species they are, and how you can tell if possible please?

| | | Re: Thursley grasshoppers At the time we had no. 2 down as woodland grasshopper rather than field, I think largely because the field grasshopper prefers dry grassland while much of Thursley is quite boggy. But now I'm in two minds...
The black marks don't reach the edge of the pronotum which says field but the hair on the thorax looks quite sparse. And the palps look very pale, if not actually white, which suggests woodland.
Does this close-up throw any more light on it...?
I don't really know what I'm looking for when it comes to costal bulges!
I suppose it's possible we saw both species.
