| | | Horned Leafhopper? Is this a Horned Leafhopper - Ledra aurita??
Found in my little garden meadow last week climbing up the yellow rattle dried seed heads... |

| | | Re: Horned Leafhopper? It certainly is! What an excellent find in your garden - the largest leafhopper in Europe and the only representative of its group to occur here. Any lichen-covered oaks nearby? |

| | | Re: Horned Leafhopper? It was right underneath several beech and a single oak...
I was looking for bees and grasshoppers at the time and suddenly spotted it.
Bit of a surprise as I gather people don't see them very often...

| | | Re: Horned Leafhopper? I think I was just lucky.
Looking on the NBN Gateway map you can see how few have been recorded - presumably not because they are rare, just hard to see
I will submit the record to my local records office but wondered if I should also record it with the NBN

| | | Re: Horned Leafhopper? Do send the record to the national recorder for Homoptera, Alan Stewart: Biological Records Centre - Recording Schemes
I have only seen this once and it's certainly not an insect people record very often | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
