A big bee/wasp-like creature - can anyone identify?
Hi,

I've seen a few of these around over the last couple of weeks (or maybe the same one a few times), and am very intrigued as to what it is... can anyone help?!?

We've a wasp nest in the house, plenty of bumble bees and burrowing bees in the lawn.... could it be a queen of one of those?

Volucella zonaria a type of hoverfly.
