| | | is this a weevil? I saved this insect from the bird bath the other day. I think the white object near its mouth is an insect it was eating at the time. An id please if anyone can help

Yup! It looks like a Green Nettle Weevil, a Phyllobius sp. |

| | | Re: is this a weevil? To separate the two genera, you need to look at the shape of the furrow in which the antenna sits - although a lot of the Phyllobius sp. have toothed femora whereas Polydrusus sp. don't (yours doesn't). |
