Hello all, grateful for some help/confirmation of these 5 please:-
1/ syrphus ribesii?  2/ same? 
3/ confused with this one - microdon spp maybe? 
4/ eristalis spp? 
5/ easiest? helophilus pendulus?

1. Syrphus sp most likely S.ribesii (Carnt see the legs to confirm)
2. Syrphus ribesii
3. Eristalis tenax
4. Eristalis pertinax

I struggle with E. tenax and pertinax - how can you tell them apart? this is to help me, not a criticism!!! 
I think the legs of the first two are same, so ribesii, but will check again.

Eristalis tenax -
Eyes with stipes (not seen in photo)
front two legs with dark tarsi (feet)
Hind leg very dark
Eristalis pertinax-
Eyes plain
Front two legs with pale tarsi
back leg dark with a distinctive pale band at the top of the tibia (round about its knee).
