| | | Dragonfly; Cordulegaster sp.? Hi,
During my trip in the UK I was lucky to find this Dragonfly posing for me for a short time
Location is given with the pictures
I think I found its genus but if possible would love to find its specie name too
Thanks in advance!
I thought some cropped details might be helpful |

Saw quite a few of these in Scotland a couple of weeks back, including a pair in cop that nicely posed low on a birch + the wonderful spectacle of a female looking as though she was pogo-ing as she oviposited in a tiny hillside runnel. |

I had been wondering what that Dragonfly was doing so close to the sea with no ponds in the neighbourhood, but now I remember there were once in a while little water channels running from inside some rocks, so there must have been these hillside sweet water runnels too! |

| | | Re: Dragonfly; Cordulegaster sp.? I think Golden Ringeds would ovi-posit on damp grass if there was nothing slightly wetter available. I've seen the larvae crawl out of the muddiest, almost dried up puddles to find some vegetation to emerge on. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
