Bug/Fly ID, please
Any thoughts on this wee fella? About 1cm long. At rest he looked completely black, but the yellow really showed up when he was in flight.

Most likely Sciara hemerobioides Sciaridae. Although there are similar species which need close examination to be sure. S.hemerobioides is most often found on flowers.

I bet it did! It's a Sciaridae fly, most like a Sciara sp. These are generally known as Dark-winged Fungus Gnats.
