Two black beetles..

Hi,

On my short trip to the UK I met two black beetles
The first one I met during a break on a small parking besides the motorway towards Lincoln on the 18th July. It looked fairly large, I guess nearly 2cm.
It was scurrying among the debris on the floor.

The second one I found along the West Coastline of Wales, UK near Cardigan it had an attraction for earth paths, with the result that I found a few trampled on the narrow path
I think I found the id; could it be Geotrupes stercorarius?

First is a Pterostichus, most likely madidus. Very common

Second is a Dor Beetle, Geotrupes sp.
