| | | Re: Really need help with wasps/bees at night Hi Beekeeper
Thanks for that information. I had thought it was wrong to close the windows as the wasps could not get out, but my boyfriend had said that many more were coming in the windows so he had to close them. Although wasps are not generally liked as bees are, I would not wish harm on them. We did scoop them up very carefully to set them free the next day and it was very sad to see that they were dying.
However, now I know what to do if this happens next year. I shall also keep an eye out when/if it snows this winter.
Thanks, Bea |

| | | Re: Really need help with wasps/bees at night OMG! Ive had exactly the same problem. It happens everyday currently at about 4.00 AM. We regularly use the kitchen downstairs at about this time as its the month of ramadhan and we fast so we wake up early in the morning to eat. What happens is that there are like what seems millions of wasps/bees (watever they are) stuck to the kitchen and bathroom windows. Some even manage to get inside and stick to the lights. what amazes me is how they come in and go out at a regular time every morning and also the fact that they know how to come in and go out! they seem pretty clever to me lol! (They go out again as sunlight enters) And I get pretty freaked out too and sometimes cant even use the bathroom at this time so wait until the sun comes out! |

If you leave your bathroom light on and a window open they can flood in and will keep heading towards the light just like a moth would they can't help it they are positively phototactic.
The best thing to do is to simply switch the lights off, leave the window open, close the bathroom door and as it gets gradually brighter outside they will fly back out again problem solved.
