Grasshoppers for ID (one eating grass!)
Are these pics of Common Green Grasshoppers?

Second one shows one eating grass. See how it grasps the grass with it's legs and feeds it into it's mouth. I've never studied this before... it fascinated me!

Taken in my garden in Dorset.

Both Field Grasshoppers- note hairy underside to thorax + Common green never has a red end to the abdomen, though colours are incredibly variable in grasshoppers.
