They do usually keep nice and still for photos,but these were moving around quite a bit. |

| | | Re: 2 hoverflies and a fly Going by the brownish yellow colour on the female's femur I would think Syrphus ribesii. But the pale face does suggest Eupeodes and they can have heavier black banding like S. ribesii, I'm not really sure on this one.

In Eupeodes corollae the shapes can be joined or not in the males, and reach the sides. The shapes on this male are joined. In Eupeodes luniger they are not, and do not reach the sides. The female if you look carefully does not have joined yellow shapes. |
