Hi Ancom,
Yes, this aphid is inadvertantly carrying a couple of opportunistic mites. |

Yes they are mites that hitch a ride on a number of different insects including Bees, Butterflies, Beetles etc.

I don't think thats an aphid that they've attached themselves to, looks more like a plant bug.

Thank you so much for this.
I am VERY new at chekcing out insects and although I'm managing to ID some through looking at hundreds of pics, I certainly come across some weird and wonderful little creatures.
