Another insect for ID please

Hello again all,
After posting Dragonfly ID request, saw this in my kitchen. Anyone help with this one please? I included blurred shot as it was a face view.
The greenery is some mint

I managed to get it on some paper and released the poor thing later.

Afternoon, TBOL!

It's an ichneumon wasp of some description, family Ichneumonidae I suspect. I doubt it could be identified from a photo, though - we have tens of species of these!

Its a pimpla species subfamily pimplinae. Something like P.instigator

and seeing both the insect in kitchen and a crane on a neighbour's garage roof this morning..!!

Unlikely a crane are you sure it wasnt a grey heron?

Thanks Dogghound....am always perturbed at my lack of birdy knowledge....a next door neighbour suggested the crane and I agreed....a little later I wondered at storks and herons..may post here just for our little interest and hope not to be reprimanded....Jeff

Hiya nutmeg and Dogghound...thanks both for ID....I do have a lot of blockages in knowledge and this is a perfect example..

I spoke to my next door neighbour yesterday evening and she was surprised that I had not seen it before...it appears it is a regular visitor....she suggested that frogs may be picked off rather than the koi carps and also that this is just nature in action...
