| | | Re: Ladybird help Yes, the pale black spots suggest recent eclosure. However the pale 'red' background is not uncommon in Adalia decempunctata - deeper red may take weeks or months to develop - if it ever does! Quote:

| | | Re: Ladybird help A good book for getting into ladybirds is Ladybirds by Michael Majerus & Peter Kearns (Naturalists handbooks 10) ISBN 0 85546267 1. It features colour forms amoungst other things. Also the field studies council (FSC) do a guide (like a leaflet) which is great for use in the field this also covers forms. |
