| | | Insect Identification wasp/sawfly?
This fellow suddenly appeared hunted/fed on the bramble blooms and then disappeared as quickly as he arrived. The scale can be judged from the bloom I hope,
Cannot find it's identity in my insect book so can anyone please help?
I think it maybe a sawfly type rather than a wasp. |

| | | Re: Insect Identification wasp/sawfly? This is a wasp most likely Ichneumonidae, perhaps a Pimpla sp. but there's a lot of them, someone else might know more.

| | | Re: Insect Identification wasp/sawfly? There are about thirteen Pimpla species, with P.instigator being the most common.
Quite hard to seperate.
I would leave this as pimpla sp. |
