| | | Spider in tunnel Idenification ?
My wife spent ages trying to take photographs of this spider in a tunnel/funnel because any vibartion by her sent the spider deep into its tunnel.
Patience however had its reward and she finally manged this shoy.
We wuld love to know the identity of the spider please. Can anyone help? |

| | | Re: Spider in tunnel Idenification ? This is a female spider in the genus Tegenaria, the same genus that includes the ubiquitous house spider. There's 11 species in this genus in northern Europe and from your description it could be one of about four species. Most spiders need to be very closely examined to define the exact species as it's a question of looking at the reproductive structures. |
