| | | Un Known Flashing Fly I spotted these today after a nights rain, I thought at first it was a glow fly, you can see them one second then they vanish, I was very lucky that as I was taking a shot of one on a log, one flashed in shot and you can see the white streak as it flys by. Anyone know what they are. |

No, not really; it's just a 'shimmer' effect as the light reflects off the
abdomen. Why it is so pronounced with these flies I'm not sure. |

Is this shimmering more notable in Argyra's than other Dolis, or a general effect of the metallic colours that they all share? |
