| | Robber fly Yesterday a robber fly landed on the back kitchen window, a very hostile looking thing it look too but beautiful looking also (if that’s possible) it’s the first time I have personally seen one that was not in a book, I tried to catch the critter for a closer look but it flew away (giggling probably) anyhow, that way my first robber fly experience that actually moved and I enjoyed it too. |

I have seen two other Asilidae recently, one which I have had before I think but only managed one not-very-good pic, one of the chunkier types! Two days ago I had one with black and yellow legs on my window sill, as I was taking pics it flew near me in a loop and landed again, it had caught one of those tiny black beetles so I go tmore pics of it feasting on the poor little thing! I must try to find out which one it is as I have not seen it before
