| | Rescuing Poorly Bumblebees In this hot weather, I often find poorly Bumblebees on my lawn or inside my conservatory. It's easy to spot them because they can't fly and they are barely moving at all. I searched the web for a way to help them and found out that offering them a drop of honey and another drop of water might be all they need to come back to life.
I've been doing that with great success. Even the ones who could just barely stand on their legs were able to get some energy back and fly away. Plus, it's a great opportunity to watch them very closely, licking the honey. Once they start walking around the plate I place them on the butterfly bush that it's in bloom right now. As soon as they touch the flowers they start moving very fast collecting the nectar. Then they fly away.
I thought I could share this story in case someone else finds a poorly bee and wants to help them.
Here's a picture of my Bumblebee Intensive Care Unit:
I hope this helps someone. |

Good on you for helping the bees and for flagging it up
I always try to help them out when I can. Let's hope your tips are taken up by many others.
