Not very similar, L. lucorum has a tawny thorax and a white tail tip. |

Thanks Janet. Are there other colour forms of this species as I have seen many hoverfly species but not one like this before |

Sebastianbawn - I had to 'help' one of these out of my dining room yesterday, didn't know it was a hoverfly though, thought it was some kind of bee. Don't think i've ever seen one before! |
