Identification of mayfly type please

While having a picnic on the banks of the River Tees in JUne this mayfly type landed on a piece of cloth and I quickly took this rather poor photograph before it took off again.

I have assumed it is a mayfly type because of its long tail and antennae.

Have no idea what it's really identity is so can someone please help?.

It is a mayfly though I doubt anyone will be able to put a name to it.

Thanks for confirmation of mayfly but I am not surprised you feel unable to take it further the shot is far from good. It was the best I could manage in the circumstances.

It's not so much the photo, I just don't think that there are many Ephemeroptera experts around. And I suspect that as a group in general they don't lend themselves that well to photo-id.

Lync, thanks for the explanation from which I draw some comfort as I have extreme difficulty in identifying the insects that my wife photographs.
