| | | Bee Identification please
This is I think a digger bee type but I would be glad of proper identification please.
I was on the banks of the River Tees and this black and white fellow turned up on the raised dry bank and showed interest in holes but I did not see it enter any of them.
It was about the size of a small bumble bee and this photo was taken I believe using my Canon G9 as I was really trying for dippers with my 100 x 400 lens. Wrong lens, how often does that happen?!"!
Any help would be very welcome. |

This one is a female Andrena cineraria. I assume this was taken a couple of months ago

Cheers, Stuart | Stuart it is great have a name for this insect and I want you to know that my wife and I really appreciate the trouble you have taken. This photo was taken mid June 2009
Thank you but we will try not to trouble you too much with identification queries but insects are not our strong point.
Birds and animals are reasonable but we have to rely upon others to help with insects even after scouring our insect books. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
