| | | Re: Tiny insect nymph ? ID Sorry, never seen anything like it but it has a somewhat bug-like appearance ... perhaps. Perhaps Kayleigh is right about the thing on its back being an aphid .... but are the appendages to the right of the screen chelicerae? Could it be a pseudoscorpion? |

Far too small for a ladybird and pretty certain it's a spider mite on the back.
Please excuse the linking but i have obviously found the same nymph before- http://www.flickr.com/photos/lordv/248745473/sizes/o/

I've just been doing a search of nymphs trying to put a name to one i posted yesterday and found a pic that looks extremely similar to your, i still don't no how to link pages so i'll just have to give you the name-Dustywing nymph - Coniopterygidae- hope this helps.

The Coniopterygidae are very small lacewings (Neuroptera) of the sub-order Planipennia. Get their common name from being covered in waxy, white powder ... eight British species .... it says here! Fascinating. Quote:

| | | Re: Tiny insect nymph ? ID Ah thanks Gray and Paul - that looks right - I do get some of the "waxy" or dusty lacewings in the garden. Very different to the green lacewing nymphs ! http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2249/...83fd3320_o.jpg
