| | Endangered insects Is there a general decline in damsel-fly numbers, possibly brought about by loss of habitat?
This is one I think I read about.

| | | Re: Endangered insects Many damselfly species are doing ok + expanding their range. In recent years we've had a totally new species- the Small Red-eyed successfully colonise many parts of the south + beyond.
There are some habitat specialists that are quite rare- such as the Southern Damselfly.
In recent years there has been many new wetland creation schemes which have helped. |

| | | Re: Endangered insects The common blue is a very common species (Most likely the most abundant of all our damselflies). It is found in a massive range of habitats, both nutrient poor and rich running or still waters. |

| | | Re: Endangered insects Has anyone heard/seen a grasshopper?
Back in the '80s I often had them in my garden but none in the later years. I was over the moon to hear one rasping away somewhere in the border this morning. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
