Buff tip
Have a buff tip moth caterpillar eating rose and flowering currant leaves in garden. Hear they prefer lime, hazel and elm. Are they common?

pretty much, yes across England and wales. One of my Fav as a great one to display camoflague during a lesson, assuming you get one in the trap
They will take a lot of deciduous leaves and overwinter as a pupae.
