| | hoverflies again? hello all,
two more from today, thanks in anticipation, must try for something else next time!
They are facinating though!
Both in a local garden.
2 might not even be a hoverfly - I did think itwas a bee at first, but unsure now!
Cheers

| | | Re: hoverflies again? First looks like Eristalis arbustorum, male.
#2 a 'gravid' female Eristalis tenax. Look at the eyes to determine if a bee or fly, and antennae.
I agree Ken, they are fascinating, it gets even more fascinating too!

| | | Re: hoverflies again? Thanks both, thats excellent!
More good tips Janet - why dont you do a common tips thread, sort of thing, for us useless insectivores?
he he.
On the other hand, its a voyage of discovery for me to enjoy (bit like fungi too) - plus you would be here all day.
Cheers
Ken

Ken | I've been on that voyage of discovery too, stick at it and enjoy the fun along the way! I think a thread would just get lost anyway. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
