Beastie id help

I was in Staffin on Skye last week and saw an earwig type creature , it was long (about 3cm) and black with pincers at the back and it attacked like a scorpion but it had an orange section about 5mm in the middle , any clue as to what it could be .

A type of rove beetle perhaps?

thanks for that , you could be right . I had a look and although I did`nt see the same one they were very very similar .
