2 bug Id's including an oil beetle

Hi all, I am trying to get an ID for my brother. I know the first is an Oil beetle (female I think from the shape), unsure how many species are in the Uk. The second I think is a Banded Demoiselle, unsure of the sex

The damselfly is a recently emerged male Banded Demoiselle, the females don't have the bands on the wings,

It is difficult to pin this species down. There are eight Meloe species in the UK. From the photograph, though it is not at the best angle, I can't see the 'kink' or 'compression' of the antennae at joints six and seven. If this is correct then this rules out M. violacea, M. prosscarabaeus and M. autumnnalis. Sorry I cannot be more help.
