| | | Spittle bug with attitude Stony Stratford, Bucks.
I first noticed this little fellow battling with the hairs on my left forearm. He'd almost certainly been living on a leafy shrub that I'd pushed through to get a closer look at a fence post.
I carefully put him onto the fence (via my finger) so that I could photograph him. He seemed totally unconcerned about my manipulations and just marched off along the fence with apparent intent.
I took the pics then walked on a way. However he must have been playing on my subconscious because I suddenly though "How's that little fellow gonna get back to his plant?". Concience won out and I walked back and found him - still marching along the fence. He was quite happy to climb onto my finger and even happier (well I think so ) to climb onto one of the leaves of the shrub that I think he originally came from.
He he is marching:

| | | Re: Spittle bug with attitude Thanks Gray .
Well I took 14 shots in total (before taking pity on it ) in the hope that at least one would be okay. The method I used was to focus just ahead of it (where I thought it would be) and fine-adjust focus as it marched into field and shot the instant it looked to be in focus.
There may also have been a bit of praying involved too .

I'll give that method a try next time, i usually blow sofly in the subjects face to slow it down but your method seems easier, thanks Bruce.
