HELP! I've disturbed a wasp's nest

Hedgehoggy, as the wasps are now going in and out of the nest i would be fairly sure that they will survive but do tell your son to stay out of their flight path as if you interfere with their approach to the nest they may become aggresive and sting, if that does happen it could obviously destroy your son's enthusiasm, best to view from a position to one side of the area they are flying in.
Although personaly i do not like wasps, they do have a place in nature as they are responsible for eating all sorts of flying insects, house flies in particular, aphids and other undesirables but also Bees which does not sit well with me being a beekeeper.
