Seeing that Jrs Bugs is on line (hello Janet). Just taken this picture of a new Hoverfly to my garden. Black Legs, Black Thorax and a bright yellow striped body. Hope you can help me identify it. Sure I have not had it before, oh and just for info my first garden Painted Lady today as well! |

There are 6 different subspecies that I know of!
You are more likely to see the males, I got the female after mating, if you look at them you will see the shape of the legs etc is different to other hoverflies. More pics on the next page of some mating, Diptera.info - Photo Albums: Syrphidae
