Wet bee rescue and question

A very wet bee I found sitting on the hose pipe the other morning (no I hadn't been using the hose pipe).
Took some photos and then warmed it up on my hand until it was walking about reasonably and then put it on a valerian flower head where it stayed for an hour voraciously feeding and drying off.
Doesn't show very well in the pics but it looked to me like it had another bees gonads attached at the rear end (see third pic). Just wondered if this was possible. I imagined the secenario as one of their all in wrestling matches in dew covered grass and the result was.... It did manage to get rid of the attachment after about half an hour on the plant.
