I missed three important words out of my last post - the first sentence should have read;
The indented shape of the pronotum on a Variableshould be visible on this photograph (if it was one).
I also should have put would be visible!
A dorsal view is best for judging the shape of the pronotum, I've not changed my mind from your second pic though.
