I wonder if they could belong to the genus Stilbus, or at least family Phalacridae - bit of a stab in the dark, really |

I think Oxycera is correct. Although ideally we could do with seeing the antenna and legs. Have you still got it? can you get more detailed photo's? There are acouple of other groups that this could potentially be. |

Thanks! I found a pic on Flickr of what someone ID'd as Stilbus testaceus which looks like it.
No Dogg I don't have it nor any more pics, I don't collect, just take my chances! It went AWOL and didn't have the courtesy to show me the antennae or legs.
Oh sorry Jason, lol, I have 3 grown kids so been there. Tsch tsch don't worry....  
I'm using the lens I had to sell so much stuff on ebay for! Nikon 105mm macro VR with 2x teleconverter. |

It was mainly the shape of them, there are alot of small gold beetles. |
