Found these two on a field/woodland edge . Any ideas please

The fly is Volucella bombylans var. plumata.

Sawfly should be Tenthredo livida, but I'll go and check on a few things.

Without being able to check the wings carefully, I would agree with most probably T. livida. White tips to the antennae, a reddish brown tip to the abdomen and I think I can just see a white spot on the first abdominal segment.

Could also be T. colon. The white part of the antenna starts mid way along segment 6, and I think it this segment should be all white for T. livida.
