Fly ID
This guy was in a garden in Bristol. I have no clue as to what type of fly it is. Does anyone know the sex as well?

I believe it's a Hymenopteran, a wasp as opposed to a true fly. Most likely a sawfly. I'll have to throw it open to someone else to ID.

I have seen recently quite a lot of Solomons Seal Sawfly`s about , maybe its one of these ...

Not really enough detail there for a certain ID but Solomon Seal Sawfly (Phymatocera aterrima) is probably a good choice.
