| | | Re: Damselfly ID part 2 Hi, I think they are large red damselfies, we saw them for the first time this year yesterday. The large reds have dark legs, smaller ones red legs. Not sure if this is a male in the first photo. There are more experienced people than me on here who wil help

| | | Re: Damselfly ID part 2 It can help narrow down the ID if you give the location and habitat, for example if you had photographed them up here on Speyside, they could only be Large Red, as that is the only red species up here. |

| | | Re: Damselfly ID part 2 They are Large Reds and the first one is male. In the third pic you will see that the female has more black at the segment margins of the abdomen and extra black markings on some of the lower segments.
