Damselfly ID part 2

I saw this lovely couple yesterday, and got very trigger happy with my camera! I know they are obviously red damselflies, but I understand there are a few very similar species so an ID would be great. Also if anyone can tell me if the first pic is male or female? thanks

Hi, I think they are large red damselfies, we saw them for the first time this year yesterday. The large reds have dark legs, smaller ones red legs. Not sure if this is a male in the first photo. There are more experienced people than me on here who wil help

Large Red = black legs and broad red or yellow antehumeral stripes.

It can help narrow down the ID if you give the location and habitat, for example if you had photographed them up here on Speyside, they could only be Large Red, as that is the only red species up here.

They are Large Reds and the first one is male. In the third pic you will see that the female has more black at the segment margins of the abdomen and extra black markings on some of the lower segments.
