Fly for ID
When I first saw this I thougt from its size, general appearance & the shape of its head that it was a scathophagid but it seems to have bristle free legs so I don't think it can be.

It may be a Lauxiniidae fly?

I had one of those too, it was big! Around 10mm long with wings.

You're welcome Peter! They are very orange, all over, very striking! I got another orange one even bigger but haven't identified it yet, looks like Sciomyzidae. Just too busy with pics etc., lol!
