Unusual looking fly with green eyes

Stony Stratford, Bucks. On side wall (near entrance) of tunnel under the A5.

Size: ~6.5mm

I tried to get a lateral shot to see what that lump was at the end of the abdomen. Unfortunately it decided it'd had enough and flew off just as I pressed the shutter

guess that its of the Dolichopodidae family but await expert.

Toby got the family correct. I'm going for a male Sciapus platypterus, that 'lump' is the male parts.

From what I've seen on the web S. platypterus looks good - although I guess eye colour must just be a light/photographic effect.
