| | | Ant - Lasius flavus? Can anyone help me Id these beauties. The problem i have is that all the pics of Myrmica rubra that I see are a very dark red. So I was led to think these may be Lasius flavus, but the text I have read says that they are more field related than back garden (where this pic was taken!). Ant experts, I need your help |

| | | Re: Ant - Lasius flavus? Well, I'm no expert but to me they are definately L. flavus - the Myrmica spp. have tiny round abdomens and much longer, slimmer bodies. These are surely Lasius sp., the colour looking good for L. flavus to me.
