Although the weather didn't look ideal (a touch on the cool side, and definitely too much wind), I tried visiting the Thames at Goring today to search for Club-tailed Dragonflies.
It turned out to be quite warm (at least out of the wind) but unfortuneatly the only sign of the Club-tails that I found was three exuviae - two of them, including the one below, on the concrete foundations of the railway bridge over the river.

There were plenty of other insects to be found in the more sheltered areas though, including quite a few Banded Demoiselles, various butterflies, and a very smart Wasp Beetle.
Hopefully there will be some better weather in a week or two so I can try again!
Roy.
Edit - Forgot to mention the birds; Lots of Red Kites in the area (not many Buzzards though) + Kingfisher, Grey Wagtail and Egyptian Goose among others.
