| | | Re: Dragonfly for id A couple of nice shots. The ID has already been covered but you might be interested to know that the one on the left is a female and the one on the right a male (look at the different shape of the apendages at the end of the abdomen).
Newly emerged dragonflies are often found with the wings closed over the back, particularly when the weather isn't very good (eg. overcast and not particularly warm). I have also occasionally seen dragonflies hold their wings like this when they are fully mature (again in poor weather), for mature dragonflies it certainly isn't the norm though.
