Morning Alan,

It's possibly a spider-hunting wasp, of Hymenoptera family Pompilidae, from the generally large body and the way it's on the ground, as in spider-hunting. It's very distinctive, I'll have to give the species some thought.

Keep a watch on that area, Alan. If you are lucky you might see one of these wasps dragging a paralysed spider into a burrow.

Geoff I wish I could keep a watch on the area - it was full of wildlife new to me but it is a fair way from home.
