Question Unidentified Gnat



Bit of a problem with these in that there's so many getting in my main worry is that they're going to bite, unfortunately despite googling allsorts of gnats I can't seem to get a positive ID

Looks like the Window Gnat Sylvicola fenestralis, they are harmless. I have been putting one or two out to find them back inside again! I guess they like windows.

Hi Milkman! Welcome to WAB

I think it's Sylvicola fenestralis, a Window Gnat and absolutely harmless. If you are getting a fair few, they may be interesting to study? Hmmm... perhaps?! You may even get the odd different type. Feel free to post here if you do!
