| | | Mirid bug Swept from wet vegetation this morning. 4-5mm long. I tried to identify it from the Britsh Bugs website but couldn't come to any conclusion. |

| | | Re: Mirid bug It is a Lygus species. I have never really got to grips with species of this widespread and often common genus. |

| | | Re: Mirid bug I think this looks better for Orthops (especially if it was <5mm) - did you sweep it from umbellifers? It's either O. kalmii or O. basalis. These are difficult from photos and rely on the relative length of the 3rd antennal segment in relation to the head width -ideally need a specimen here |

| | | Re: Mirid bug I agree with Orthops sp. here. The colouring is closer to specimens of O. basalis that I've seen, but the antennal length does suggest kalmi... if the right antenna is square to the camera, that is! |

| | | Re: Mirid bug Great shots - I think these do nail it as a very likely basalis female. |

| | | Re: Mirid bug Many thanks Tristanba & Acutipuerilis. I forgot to say that there were indeed umbellifers among the vegetation I swept. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
