ants enjoy nectar too

Took this image Sunday, I know Dandelions are a menace to some, but an important early nectar source too for bees and ants.



So let the odd one or two grow in the garden

Very true....I've always enjoyed dandelions because they make it feel as if the bitter cold is gone for the season (even though thats not always the case). Love the photo.

heard that ants can farm aphids and"milk" them for a sweet substance that they secrete !!

Yes ants do do that I have watched them many a time!

My garden has lots of dandelions and the hedgerows are bright yellow with them they do brighten up the countryside!

Goldfinches enjoy dandylions too. Have been watching them pull the seed heads apart this week and devouring the seeds.

The sparrows do the same in my garden.

Dandylions are great for all sorts of creatures. I don't like them in the lawn but I grow them in my flower beds (on purpose!).

Same here I was actually thinking of making up some big pots just full of these bright & beneficial flowers as features, aswell for creatures!
