Hi guys ,
Can anyone recommend reference /guide book for insects ? mainly on rivers and lakes ?
I have bought John Goddard's waterside guide through my own research.... is there any that you guys recommend ?

Insects (DK Handbooks) is OK and small enough to carry in a bag or large pocket and cost from around £6.00

There's the Oxford "Small Freshwater Creatures" by Olsen et al, which is very good - has a lot of things from water margin habitats as well, and the drawings a repretty good. To get definite species IDs on practically anything, though, you'll have to go to more specialist volumes. |
