There were several of these constantly hovering round a hazel bush, but never settling. Their behaviour suggested that they were hunting. 
Not easy to photograph as they were constantly on the move!

Ophioninae. The dark tip of the abdomen suggests its Netelia testacea. |

Ichneumons - so they were hunting after all. They seemed only interested in hazel so I guess their host lives on hazel.

Yes these species are moderately species specific in their host choice. Often Noctuids are favoured. Hazel has quite a large variety of caterpillars that feed on it. | | |
