Question Identification Help Please
I have found 7 grubs/caterpillars while emptying some old compost from a garden pot. They were all buried some inches under the compost and at first looked like a large snail shell or amonite. They were curled nose to tail had heads like caterpillars and were blue/silver in colour. The bodies were the circumference of a fivepence piece and the curled up size was about an inch/inch and a half across.

Sounds to me like the pupae of some sort of beetle. Can you get a shot of them?
