| | | Another well-worn specimen! Found this fella in the conservatory this morning, looking rather worse for wear, as all the moths that I catch and photograph seem to be at the moment ....

| | | Re: Another well-worn specimen! The only thing I can tell you is that it is a member of the Pyralidae family. The diagnostic sign to that family is the antennae that lays along its back.
Which one, that's another question and I have checked thoroughly through this family but I think that it is probably too worn to actually work it out.

It looks a bit like Udea ferrugalis but the reniform stigma is the wrong shape... |

That is the one I was considering but Jezs' image is so worn that I couldn't be confident of the ID.

Just looked at one on UK Moths, Imaginos, and I think you could be right with Udea ferrugalis, unless there is a very similarly-marked species? |
